Weekly Update! (2/10/18)

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

It looks like your updates might be taking place on Saturdays until further notice.

Lets get down to business! I’m going to have a lot of free time for the next few days because I have the flu! Not very exciting, but I’ll have time to tweak the website before the next Just A Game Con meeting, so that’s a win I guess.

I’ve been creating  a more technical schedule for my own use, and it looks like I’m in a place to schedule more events. I typically run the Saturday and Sunday Magic Prereleases but I have a feeling it will be difficult to run simultaneous tournament of 40+ people and a convention at the same time. I’m making some arrangements that will either A) Allow me to be in +/- four places at once, or B) Have somebody else run the event.

There are 70 days until JAGC 29, and there is much to do! More on that next week.

Weekly Update! (2/3/18)

…but Kylie, it isn’t Wednesday! I know, I know.. it has been a busy week.

Flyers are available at the Corvallis shop, and they’ll be in Albany soon! They’re nice and colorful, hard to miss! In the next week I’ll be sending email confirmations about the events we have registered so far. I’m going to start blocking the time for tournaments and set-up. To the vendors and organizers who have signed up so far, THANK YOU! We could use a few more volunteers to help JAGC run smoothly, If you know anyone that’s interested, send them my way! Volunteers can get free entry!!! Also, I can only be in so many places at once.

The schedule will be updated again this week.

That’s all I’ve got for now, catch ya next Wednesday!

Weekly Update! (1/24/18)

Happy Wednesday Gamers!

This week has been pretty eventful! We have two demos that are on the schedule for JAGC#29 (Schedule of Events), and many more in the process of being added. This year I’ve received lots of interest in running tournaments, everything from Klask to Pandemic! Hopefully I’ll have more information for you soon.

The Magic Prerelease is looking like it can draw a lot of people between good timing and good content, and you can find me teaching people how to play in the week leading up to it. More info to come.

We’re about to put together some flyers for Just A Game Con #29. Please let me know if you’d like any!

Lastly for this week, I wanted to thank everyone for their continued support, our local gaming community is amazing.

next JAGC#29 Meeting: Feb 13 @ Matt’s Cavalcade Of Comics 7:00pm • Open to all

Thank you ♥

Weekly Update! (1/17/18)

Hello Gamers!

Welcome to 2018! The year of impatiently waiting for Gloomhaven, and wondering why all of your Tabletop RPGs now contain dinosaurs. This will be the first of Wednesday updates on Just A Game Con #29 which takes place April 21st and 22nd at the Corvallis Elks Lodge #1413.

As of this month, we’ve actively begun the search for volunteers! They’ll be fairly simple positions, but we can use all the help we can get. I’ll have an official form for you soon, basically there are 2-hour-long shifts, if you complete two of those, you’ll get free entry to the convention!

We hold monthly meetings to discuss and prepare, during which we cover a variety of topics including the future of Just A Game Con. These meeting are open to the public, with the next one being held on Tuesday February 13th at Matt’s Cavalcade of Comics, 7:00pm. You’re also welcome to email any questions, comments, or concerns you may have to jagc@ilovespidey.com.

Flyers will be out some time next month, let me know if you’d like some.

Last but not least, Magic: The Gathering Dominaria Prerelease will be held at JAGC #29. More details to come!
